Saturday Training (17/3)
Training will be as usual at 2pm.
Please be at the grass patch with your life jacket, paddle, and watch on time.
Those who forget your watches or are late without any valid prior notice, please proceed with your push ups before joining the team for training. If I may emphasize again, being late once or twice with a valid reason is tolerable, but being continually late time and again just reflects on your own poor self discipline.
Weekday Trainings (19/3, 21/3)
Monday's training will go on as per normal for everyone.
All non-competitors will continue with training on Wednesday. Don't lose the momentum that we have built up painstakingly over these many months.
MR500 competitors are however not required to attend Wednesday's training; team manager's briefing will be held on that day, either in the afternoon or in the evening. Please avail yourselves to paddle in the morning if possible too.
Timing and location of the briefing to be confirmed by Kang Wei / Meibin asap. (Team Managers for MR500)
Shifting Of Boats (23/3)
MR500 will be held at Jurong Lake. As such, we will need to shift our boats down to the location. Tentatively, we will be meeting at Macritchie on Friday at around 12.
Timing will be confirmed by Shi Xiang / Kelvin.
Also, please go down and confirm the boats that you are using before the team managers' briefing. Check with Shi Xiang if you are not sure.
MR500 (24/3-25/3)
Meeting time and place to be confirmed after team managers' briefing.
Stay tuned.
Make arrangements with teammates to travel down together, stay over, or whatever.
Continue to train hard guys. We're coming to the final stretch of MR500. Try to go down as much as possible and make full use of the time when you're paddling.
Set a clear goal for yourself when you're training, never go down without an aim. When you fail to plan, you plan to fail.
Never be afraid of asking. If you feel that you are inadequate, drop that ego and ask someone for help. Everyone starts somewhere.
Remember to put in as much effort as you can and make this competition worthy of remembrance.
I know that this is the first sprint competition that most of us are taking part in, but don't let this intimidate you. Have faith in yourselves and just do it.
For those who have been exposed to competitive sprints, don't let your pride get the better of you. Train hard, if not harder than the rest. Set the standard for everyone to follow.
Use the training that has been taught to you, remember all the hard work that you've put in and FOCUS.
养兵千日,用在一朝。
(Train an army for a thousand days to use it for one morning. Extensive preparation eventually pays off)
